Shan Trucking is a service-based Transportation Company in Western Canada. We need one (1) Accounting Technician who can start immediately. We are in Edmonton, Alberta.
Wages: $29.00 per hour for 35 to 40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent; Full Time; Part timers will be considered
Employment Conditions: Overtime; Day; Weekend
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Languages: English
Education: Grade 12
The following employment requirements need to be met to show competency to perform the main duties of the job:
- If completed of a certificate or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping, then no experience is required
Or
- If completed courses in accounting or bookkeeping, several months of experience is required.
Or
- If no education related to accounting, then 1-2 years’ work experience in accounting/booking.
Job duties:
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Prepare quarterly GST return for review by an accountant
- Reconcile accounts
- Post journal entries
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
- Prepare the trial balance of books
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
- Prepare tax returns
