JP Paving Stones & Landscaping Inc. (Business address 512 Larch Place, Canmore, AB, T1W 1R9, Canada) is seeking an experienced Landscaping Supervisor.

Working conditions:

Wage: $32.00 – 37.00 per hour – depending on experience

Full-time, year-round, permanent job offer

Working location: Various work locations in the Bow Valley

30 – 44 hours per week

Overtimes are paid at 1,5 rate for hours exceeding 44 hours in any given week;

4% vacation paid by-weekly.

Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of landscape helpers and other workers who install patios, walkways, driveways,lawns, decks, etc.;
  • Assign duties to the above-mentioned workers and train and mentor new employees;
  • Oversee and assist in the installation of paving stone patios, walkways, driveways, ponds, and water features and in the installation of flagstone and other natural stone patios, retaining walls, tree and shrub planting with the appropriate tools;
  • Work with natural stones;
  • Read and understand commercial landscaping tenders, blueprints, and estimate quantities of materials and labor required for execution.
  • Visit project sites and investigate up-to-date supply costs to accurately price all aspects of commercial landscaping tenders.
  • Take measurements, propose yard designs, estimate supply quantities, and design functional irrigation layouts based on environmental factors.
  • Organize and oversee the excavation of sites and grades as part of the landscaping process;
  • Investigate current supply costs, choose appropriate plant materials based on hardiness zone, sun exposure, and water availability, and submit detailed landscaping proposals.
  • Find new suppliers and deal with them and get materials from the suppliers and other material;
  • Repair and maintain landscape equipment and ensure all safety standards are upheld at all times.

Requirements:

  • Must have completed high school;
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Landscaping Supervisor;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license class 5;
  • Must be able to pick up and handle up to 23 kg (50lbs);
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions;
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English;

  • Basic knowledge of skid-steer, small engine equipment, pick-up truck, table saw and mini excavator.
