JGR Transport provides freight and gravel transportation. We need three Truck Drivers for both Short and Long haul.
As long-haul truck driver, you will be required to operate a tractor-trailer and haul commercial goods over long distances. You will be required to depart for destinations thousands of kilometers away from home. You will be required to cross-interprovincial boundaries and travel over international routes across North America. You will be required to be away home for several days per week or weeks at a time.
As gravel truck driver, you should be prepared to stay away from home at various locations in a camp or employer provided accommodation for several days a week or few weeks. Employer will cover cost of accommodation.
Wage:
$ 26.50 per hour for 40 to 60 hours per week
In accordance with al Provincial and Federal standards, overtime will be paid after 10 hours per day / 50 hours per week when the truck is operated within Alberta.
Overtime will be paid after 10 hours per day / 60 hours per week when the truck crosses interprovincial boundaries

Credentials:
Driver’s License (Class 1 or A); Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Documentation Knowledge:
Accident and incident reports; Trip reports; Trans-border documentation: Maintenance and repair reports; Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip); Driven logbook; Bill of Lading
Experience:
An asset
Communication Systems Experience:
Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

Job Duties:
Perform preventive maintenance; Perform emergency roadside repairs; Pay and receive payment for good; Load and unload goods; Receive and relay information to central dispatch; Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport good and materials; Tarping and ensuring safety of cargo; Drive as part of two-person team or convoy; Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment; Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption; Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Security and Safety:
Driver’s validity check; Driving record check (abstract); Drug test; Criminal record check
Transportation / Travel Information
