Bearpack Developments Inc. (Business address 1904 250 Fireside View, Cochrane, AB, T4C 2M2, Canada) is seeking a Landscaping Supervisor.
Working conditions:
- Wage: $27.00 hour
- Full-time, year-round, permanent job offer
- Working location: Various work locations in the Calgary Region
- 30 hours per week
- Overtimes are paid at 1,5 rate for hours exceeding 44 hours in any given week or 8 hours in any given day;
- 4% vacation paid by-weekly.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of landscape helpers, and other workers who install patios, walkways, driveways, lawns, decks, etc.;
- Supervise season field workers such as snow removal labourers;
- Assign duties to the above-mentioned workers and train and mentor new employees;
- Oversee and assist in the installation of paving stone patios, walkways, driveways, ponds, and water features and in the installation of flagstone and other natural stone patios, retaining walls, tree and shrub planting with the appropriate tools;
- Work with natural stones;
- Co-ordinate snow removal during the winter season and operate a truck with a plow to clear snow from the driveways and parking lots;
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow;
- Oversee appropriate distribution of de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt;
- Find new suppliers and deal with them and get materials from the suppliers and other material;
- Organize and oversee the excavation of sites and grades as part of the landscaping process;
- Layout sites using laser levels and other equipment;
- Repair and maintain landscape equipment and ensure all safety standards are upheld at all times.
Requirements:
- Must have completed high school;
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Landscaping Supervisor or in a similar filed;
- Must have a valid driver’s license class 5;
- Must be able to pick up and handle up to 23 kg (50lbs);
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions;
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English;
- Personal Suitability: Team player, Excellent communication skills, Dependability, Organized, Customer Service Oriented, Flexibility, Effective interpersonal skills, Reliability, Self-motivated;
- Basic knowledge of Skid-Steer, Sprayer or duster, Small engine equipment, Pick-up truck, Chain saw and mini excavator.
